How Audio Verification Works in Practice
AI-equipped cameras and graded alarm sensors detect motion, perimeter line-crossings or intrusion with high accuracy. Verified alerts are transmitted to the monitoring centre over secure dual-path signalling (broadband plus mobile fail-over). The on-duty operator reviews the activation within seconds, then issues a live audio challenge through the on-site speaker typically enough on its own to end the incident. If the intrusion continues, the operator follows the action plan you've agreed, including the police response add-on where you've opted in.
Audio Challenge Effectiveness
A live human voice over an on-site speaker is one of the most effective deterrents in modern security. The deterrent effect of a real human voice rather than a recorded message is significantly higher, and most activations resolve at the audio-challenge stage without further escalation.
Police Response Option
We offer a police response add-on for sites where verified incidents need to be escalated to the emergency services. This is configured as part of your action plan and follows the standard verified-alert process. Police response is optional you can run audio-only monitoring or audio plus police response depending on the site.
Camera & Alarm Requirements for Monitoring
Effective Audio Verification requires the right hardware AcuSense or similar AI cameras to discriminate genuine threats from false triggers, on-site speakers for the audio challenge, graded sensors on intruder systems, good night-vision (ColorVu or low-light specialist) and reliable dual-path signalling. Where existing kit doesn't meet these requirements we'll quote upgrading only the components that need it, rather than replacing the whole system.
Typical Sites We Monitor
Construction sites and builders' yards (high-value plant and materials, frequent overnight targets). Vacant commercial units between tenants. Holiday homes and second properties (often unoccupied for months). Self-storage facilities. Car dealerships and forecourts. Recycling and scrap yards. High-value residential properties. Any site where the cost of a single successful break-in would exceed years of monitoring fees.
Cost of Monitoring
Audio Verification Monitoring starts from £180 per year. Pricing depends on the number of cameras and zones, complexity of the action plan and whether the police response add-on is included. We always quote transparently, with no hidden setup fees or surprise charges. Initial hardware (where required to make the site monitor-capable) is quoted separately upfront.
