HIKVISION Camera Range We Install
We install the full HIKVISION ColorVu, AcuSense and DarkFighter ranges. ColorVu cameras deliver full-colour footage 24/7 even in near-total darkness using a wide-aperture lens and supplementary white light. AcuSense cameras use on-camera AI to differentiate people and vehicles from animals and trees, drastically reducing false motion alerts. DarkFighter cameras specialise in low-light environments where infrared isn't suitable. We choose the right model per camera position rather than installing a one-size system.
NVR Storage & Retention
Every system we install includes a HIKVISION NVR (Network Video Recorder) with hard drive sized to retain at least 30 days of continuous 4K footage from all cameras. Storage is on-premise meaning footage stays in your control, not on someone else's cloud. We can configure motion-only recording to extend retention significantly, dual-recording for critical zones, and remote backup options for sensitive sites.
Camera Types & Placement
Bullet cameras (long, cylindrical) suit perimeter, car parks, drives and gardens designed to point in one direction with long-range vision. Turret and dome cameras (compact, hemispherical) suit eaves, soffits, entrances and indoor areas discreet and vandal-resistant. PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras suit large commercial sites needing operator control. Doorbell cameras handle the front door specifically with two-way audio.
Residential CCTV Systems
Typical residential installs include 4 to 8 cameras: front drive (number plates), front door (faces), rear garden, side passages, and key indoor areas if requested. NVR sited in loft or utility cupboard with 2TB storage as standard. HIK-Connect on every household member's phone. Domestic CCTV systems start from £395 with no subscription fees, with final pricing depending on camera count and quality tier.
Commercial CCTV Systems
Commercial systems range from 4 cameras for small retail to 32+ cameras for industrial units and HMO properties. Features include dual-stream recording, ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) for car parks, AI line-crossing alerts for restricted areas, multi-user access with role-based permissions, and integration with EPOS systems for transaction overlay. Full GDPR-compliant signage and Privacy Impact Assessment guidance included.
Cabling & Power Over Ethernet
All cameras are wired using Cat6 ethernet with PoE (Power over Ethernet) meaning a single cable runs to each camera carrying both data and power. This is far more reliable than wireless cameras (which compete with WiFi traffic and battery life) and means no separate power supply per camera. Cabling is routed through lofts, voids and external trunking where unavoidable, painted to match where required.
